Barry has been in business for as long as he can remember – from his early days working for a kinky leatherwear manufacturer (they made the original leather cat suit for Emma Peel in the Avengers!), through travelling the world with a Japanese corporation, to running his own businesses.

After a ‘series of unfortunate events’ Barry realised that there is more to life than work, work and more work and he began to see a pattern emerging where the need to keep up with the ever increasing speed of business due to the internet and mobile phones has caused a massive imbalance between work and lifestyle – especially in the area of health, fitness and wellbeing.

Barry was a very fit young man.  He was a regular gym user, a cyclist and ran a couple of marathons, but as time went by an ever increasing workload and a growing family ate into his leisure time.  The gym membership lapsed and the bike went rusty in the shed.

But fate took a hand.  In his late thirties Barry was involved in a car accident resulting in severe whiplash (which curtailed even the little exercise he was still doing).

He took up Tai Chi to help his neck.  It worked brilliantly, so well in fact that as well as his newly discovered passion for Tai Chi, he rejoined the gym.

Unfortunately what he didn’t change though was his workaholic lifestyle and in his early forties Barry had a heart attack.

This time Barry understood that his way of life and of exercise too had to change.  He gradually regained fitness through Tai Chi and Chi Gung and learnt to curtail his workaholic tendencies.  Barry now has over 25 years of Tai Chi training in the UK and Taiwan under his belt and is a qualified instructor. 

Through working with recovering cardiac patients, on cruise ships and with classes he has developed his own unique exercise system which can be done in just Five Minutes a Day by even the busiest executive – it can even be done at a desk!

Barry is now dedicated to helping people to realise their potential by maintaining a reasonable level of fitness in a balanced lifestyle.  He believes that by harnessing the power of Chi Gung (standing meditation/exercise) he can show you how to achieve more without compromising your wellbeing.
